Why you shouldn’t work with me

This might sound like an odd thing to write - especially on my own website - but I’ve found that being clear about who I’m not for is just as important as knowing who I am best placed to serve.

So let me be upfront.

If you’re looking for someone to agree with you, I’m not your man.

If you want quick fixes or motivational platitudes, I won’t deliver them.

If you’re more concerned with how you’re perceived than how you’re leading, we probably won’t get far.

The work I do under Clear Cut Leadership is direct, challenging, and unafraid to go deep. I ask hard questions - often the ones that have gone unspoken for too long. I won’t push an agenda, but I also won’t stay silent when something needs to be said. It’s not always comfortable. It’s not designed to be.

I am not your employee; I am your guide. And although we may have a formal engagement, I will never be subservient. This is a partnership - one designed to create significant breakthroughs, help you see more clearly, lead more powerfully, and elevate your life to a level that feels meaningful and fully yours.

And here’s why that works.

I’ve held big leadership roles. I’ve managed thousands of people. I’ve sat with the pressure of billion-pound decisions, boardroom conflict, and the quiet toll it takes when you feel like everyone is depending on you. I know what it means to carry that weight - and I know how lonely it can be.

That’s what gives me both the credibility and the empathy to walk alongside senior leaders as they navigate high stakes, heavy responsibilities, and the deeper questions that success tends to uncover.

This kind of work doesn’t happen overnight. The engagements I take on typically last for at least twelve months. Change isn’t always fast or linear - and the most meaningful shifts often take time to surface. The clients I’ve worked with for years rarely bring the same challenges twice; they evolve, as their lives and businesses do. That’s the nature of growth.

Working together requires an investment - of time, energy, focus, and yes, resources. It’s not for everyone, and that’s intentional. This is deep work. For those who are ready, it’s transformational.

If that doesn’t sound like you, that’s perfectly fine. In fact, it’s useful to know.

Because if we do choose to work together, we’ll be building something real. And real leadership doesn’t come from comfort; it comes from courage.
